Navina and Freddy came from Germany to say yes in the Algarve, at Casas Manor de Cima, just outside Tavira.
They are flight attendants, like me. So we started talking about time zones, layovers and early alarms long before we talked about the wedding. Travel is part of their story, and choosing Portugal felt natural for them: a place to bring the people they love, slow down and celebrate.
A relaxed day in the soft Algarve light
The day was intimate and easy. No rush, no big production. Just the people who matter most, the warm light of the south, and a couple who wanted to enjoy every minute.
I love weddings like this. There is space for the quiet moments before the ceremony: a deep breath, a hand on a shoulder, a look across the room. And there is space for the laughter at the end of the night, when everyone has stopped thinking about the camera.
My job was to stay close, but never in the way. To notice the small things and keep them.
Reliving it all again
When the gallery arrived, Navina wrote that looking through the photos felt like "reliving our wedding all over again." That is the whole point for me. A wedding is one day. The photos are how you go back to it, again and again, for the rest of your life.
Getting married in Tavira?
Tavira is one of the calmest corners of the Algarve: whitewashed houses, the river, and that golden evening light. Casas Manor de Cima gives you the countryside and the privacy, with the coast close by. It is a lovely choice for an intimate destination wedding in Portugal.
